New Scrap Metal Trailer
On October 9, 2025, ACT NOW purchased a 2025 14-foot Load Trail metal dump-style trailer to be used for the Scrap Metal Project.
Funding for this new trailer came from ACT NOW Scrap Metal Project Fund, a grant from the Roscommon County Community Foundation “Community Impact Fund” and a grant from the Roscommon Rotary Club.
This trailer replaces a 15-year-old smaller wooden utility trailer that is worn, has some damage from use and has stability concerns when being towed. The new trailer has a 7,000-pound dual-axle capacity, steel construction, electric braking system with a battery operated scissor hoist for dumping. This will allow for larger, heavier loads that would be more secure, safer and easier for volunteers to transport and unload.

We would like to thank our Scrap Metal Project Coordinators Carlos Jean-Francois and Patrick Mrosz and the volunteers that help with sorting, loading and unloading the metal.
The last two loads of the 2025 season were handled by Carlos, Patrick, John Wybraniec, Terry Newton and Chief Eric Muszynski. THANK YOU ALL!

The 2025 Scrap Metal Project raised $4,141.78 and is ACT NOW’s second largest annual fundraiser to help support all of their community programs and projects!

The Scrap Metal Project is closed for the Season and will resume approximately April 15, 2026.

Our Scrap Metal Project is a Community Fundraiser…if you find a “treasure” in the trailer and want to take it, please make a donation in the box that has been mounted on the side of the trailer before you remove an item. THANK YOU!
