ACT NOW along with the Gerrish Twp. Police Department will be hosting a Severe Weather Spotter Class on May 18, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Gerrish Township Hall. This 1 1/2 hour class is open to everyone free of charge, no pre-registration required. The class is being presented by the National Weather Service of Gaylord in cooperation with the Roscommon County Department of Emergency Management.
The class will include:
Thunderstorm Ingredients, Lightning, Flood and Hail Safety, Supercell and Multi-cell Storms, Tornado Formation, Online Spotter Networks, National Warning Criteria and What & When to Report. SKYWARN was developed in the late 1960’s to promote a partnership between the National Weather Service and local communities.
