The Lockdown Company, Developer of the “BOOT” has started installing this safety device in the Roscommon Area Public Schools. The “BOOT” is a very simple device in which teachers or students can easily secure a classroom door to protect against unwanted intruders. This product will provide for another layer of security within our schools to make them a safer place for learning. Weighing in at only five pounds, the “BOOT” will hold up to 16,000 pounds of force when engaged, offering tremendous strength preventing entry to a classroom from danger. The Area Schools, Local Law-enforcement, Fire & EMS Departments, and the Community have partnered together to form “Friends For Safe Schools” (F.F.S.S.).
Friends For Safe Schools is the organization coordinating this project, and they are currently raising funds through the Roscommon Community Foundation. This fund is now open and accepting donations! If you would like to support the Friends for Safe Schools Fund, you may mail a check to RCCF at P.O. Box 824, Roscommon, MI 48653 or donate online at www.myrccf.org.
The “Friends For Safe Schools” (F.F.S.S.) is Non-Profit and all donations are tax deductible.
