On 08/04/2019 @ approximately 5:28 p.m. the Gerrish Township Police Department, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, and the Michigan State Police were all dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident on Northbound I-75 at the 243 Mile Marker in Gerrish Township, Roscommon County. Through Officer’s investigation it was determined the 63 year old female driver from Central Lake was traveling Northbound on I-75 with her 33 year old nephew who was from the Holland area. The driver of the vehicle lost control and left the roadway causing the vehicle to roll approximately 4 to 5 times before landing and coming to rest on all four wheels. The male passenger was trapped and had to be extricated from the wreckage. The female driver was air lifted from the scene by Flight Care out of Saginaw while the male passenger was air lifted by North Flight Aero Med out of Traverse City. Both patients were flown to Traverse City Munson Spectrum Health for medical treatment. Both patients are listed in stable condition at this time. The cause of the accident is still being investigated however may have been related to a medical condition.
