Hey Parents and Teens…October 20-26 is National Teen Driver Safety Week. This is a great opportunity for parents to talk to and remind teens about the importance of safe driving and for teens to talk with their friends and family about the importance of the rules of the road and being a responsible, safe driver.
In 2017, there were 2,247 people killed in crashes involving a teen driver. 15 percent of teen drivers involved in fatal crashes had been drinking.
Safe driving requires 100% attention 100% of the time while driving. Check out the Talking Points on safe driving for both parent audience and teen audience below and take a few moments this week to talk to your teens (and teens talk to your friends) about the importance of safe driving…keep that conversation going all year long!
