May 12-18, 2019 is National Police Week, a special time to honor and remember those law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice as well as the families and fellow officers they left behind.
This year, 371 names of officers killed in the line of duty are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. 158 of those officers lost their lives in 2018 and the other 213 names represent those who died in previous years but have not been added to the memorial yet.
Last night, the 31st Annual Candlelight Vigil was held at the National Mall in D.C. and these 371 fallen officers were formally dedicated to the memorial.
Thank you to these 371 fellow law enforcement brothers and sisters, we honor and salute you and will be forever grateful for your service. #RIP
