National Police Week 2015

Gerrish Township Police Officers will be wearing black mourning bands on their badges this week to honor and remember those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice last year and in yesteryear.  In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15th as “Peace Officers Memorial Day” and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week.  Please remember those fallen officers, their families and co-workers this week as we honor their courage and salute their sacrifice.
