Gerrish Township Teen Emergency Response Team (TERT)

CERT LOGOThe Gerrish Township Police Department in partnership with the Gerrish Township CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is looking to start a Teen CERT or TERT (Teen Emergency Response Team) program in Gerrish Township. As a senior project, Roscommon High School Senior Hailey Eanes is also partnering with the Gerrish Township Police Department and CERT by recruiting Juniors and Seniors in an effort to establish a sustainable Teen CERT program.  It takes 20 hours to complete the Teen CERT training and the skills learned will last an entire lifetime.  During this training, Teen Cert members will:

  • Extinguish small fires
  • Conduct light search and rescue
  • Assist those who are injured
  • Set up medical treatment areas
  • Assist emergency responders
  • Identify and anticipate hazards
  • Reduce fire hazards in the home and workplace
  • Help reduce survivor stress

Through Teen CERT you can serve your community and help take care of your school and home. If you are interested in becoming a Teen CERT member, please contact:
