Julie began working with the Gerrish Township Police Department in January of 1984. Julie is considered the administrative professional for the Department and frequently devotes many extra hours to insure that the Department runs smoothly.
Julie is very active in the Community Policing philosophy and lends many of her computer skills and creativity to the Gerrish Township Police Department’s community partnerships. That is, she currently serves as a volunteer Secretary to the Advisory Community Team-Neighbors on Watch executive board which is the Department’s neighborhood watch parent group. She has received training in the Community Policing philosophy both in the Department as well as out of the area training.
Julie maintains a very stream lined and efficient office. That means that the Chief, Sergeant and Patrol Officers have little difficulty tracking reports or any other necessary paperwork important to police service. Additionally, Julie maintains personnel, training files as well as paperwork for grant monies that are required to be filed with the State and Federal Government. Julie also keeps monthly records for the budget expenses and revenues including submitting incident reports to Cost Recovery, maintains the department inventory records, retention of the department’s compiled reports, serves as the coordinator for the Michigan Justice Training Council and as a contact person for MCOLES Information and Tracking Network.
Everyone at the Department relies heavily on her organizational skills and appreciates all the work that she does to make our jobs easier. She also assists officers with property check forms, well being check forms, PBT’s and assists in keeping the department website up to date.
Julie is also an EMT with the Gerrish Township Fire/EMS Department and a certified American Heart Association CPR/AED Instructor.
Julie is available at our reception window to assist the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
