Gerrish Township ACT-NOW/Gerrish Township Police Department “Shop with a Cop” receives $1,781.52 from NCACU

The Roscommon Branch of NCACU (North Central Area Credit Union) chose the Gerrish Township ACT-NOW/Gerrish Township Police “Shop with a Cop” program for its 2017 annual charity recipient.

The branch staff looks over several area charitable organizations and has the opportunity to pick the one of their choosing for the year to donate towards.  They try to pick a different organization that can benefit each year from their “Casual for a Cause” fund. The “Casual for a Cause” is a program where each employee pays $2 every Friday to wear a logo shirt and jeans throughout the year, they also have internal contests to raise more funds.  To top it off, the Credit Union matches the employee’s funds to give to the individual organizations.  This year the branch office raised a total of $1,781.52 to give back to a local charity.

Other Community Charities in past years they have donated towards are Greyson’s Gift, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Lakes, Roscommon Meals on Wheels and many other worthy organizations in the Roscommon area.

All the members of ACT-NOW including the Gerrish Township Police Department want to thank the employees from the Roscommon branch of NCACU for their large donation they provided to our annual Shop with a Cop program.  This donation will help make for another great Christmas season for many families.
