9/11 Memorial Service

911-2014

State Rep. Bruce Rendon with special guests Police Chief Brian A. Hill of Gerrish Township (left) and Fire/EMS Chief Jim Lippert of Gerrish Township (right) took part in the annual Michigan House of Representatives 9/11 memorial service that also honors first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty in Michigan the past year.

“We owe so much to our first responders and I’m glad Chief Lippert and Chief Hill could be here today to celebrate this solemn occasion,” said Rendon, R-Lake City. “It’s an honor to have them both here representing all the men and women who serve our communities to keep our families safe day in and day out all year long.”

The ceremony included the ringing of a fire bell for each of the four first responders who died in the line of duty since Sept. 11, 2013, special music by a fire department bagpiper and “Taps” played by two members of the Grand Ledge High School Marching Band.
