64.4 Pounds of Drugs Dropped Off for Disposal

Yesterday, the Gerrish Twp. Police Department turned in 64.4 pounds of medications/drugs to be disposed of at the Petoskey Public Safety Department through the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council’s program to keep the environment clean and unwanted drugs safely out of the hands of children/teens.

Thank you to everyone for utilizing this tool to keep our community safer and cleaner.

Gerrish Twp. Police Department will be upgrading their Drug Drop Box in the near future through the “KidCents” Safe Medication Disposal Program from the Rite Aid Foundation. Watch for more information to come on the new box. It will be in the same location (to the left of the front door entrance of the police department building). Until then please continue to use the current Drug Drop Box. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
