OUR GTFD EXPLORER POST #2902

Explorer Post #2902 of the Gerrish Township Fire/EMS Department was started in May of 2004.

Previous to the Explorer program the Department sponsored a Cadet program to assist young people learn about the Fire/EMS services.

In May of 2004, the Post started with 4 Explorers and later that summer 3 more interested young adults joined in.

During the winter of 2004-2005 three of the Explorers participated in the State required Firefighter I and II class.  In December 2004, one of the Explorers turned 18 years of age and decided to join the Department.
