OFFICER PAM WILLIAMS
Pam grew up in the Gladwin area of the State where she attended Gladwin High School and graduated in June of 2001. She then attended Kirtland Community College where she achieved two Associates degrees, one in the Applied Science of Criminal Justice Pre-Service and another in the Applied Science of Criminal Justice Administration. Pam attended the Kirtland Regional Police Academy and graduated with the 18th Academy class in April of 2004. Pam was hired at our Department on May 12, 2004.
During her schooling, Pam worked at a Subway for 6 years and she worked part-time for the Gladwin County Sheriff Department Marine Patrol for the previous two summers before hiring on with our Department.
Pam plans on attending many continuing education classes and ultimately possibly working toward her bachelor degree in Criminal Justice.

On 1-8-07, Officer Williams was awarded a Community Service Award certificate for her vision and dedication to achieving her Community Service goal. We admire Pam’s commitment to herself and the Department in achieving her goal of bringing some Community project that she could call her own to Gerrish Township. Pam worked exceptionally hard on duty as well as off duty and committed many hours of her own time to achieve the goal she set for herself. The Project Blue Light Program that Pam organized was Pam’s own thought and she worked tirelessly to bring a quality, meaningful service to this Community. She has started what we hope will be an annual project for her. Pam has wanted to accomplish a Community Service Project as a goal for herself for some time now. We appreciate her perseverance! Pam was also awarded a blue and white ribbon bar to be worn on her uniform as a reminder to herself and all that she is committed to our vision and her own excellence to Community Service.
Pam received a Departmental Citation Award for her performance of duty on 12-2-07 where she demonstrated exceptional courage by attempting to save a life with the application of a department AED, the result of which allowed secondary medical attempts to save a life. Pam was awarded a blue, white and gold ribbon bar to be worn on her uniform for her efforts.
Pam received a Departmental Commendation Award for her performance and investigative efforts which led to the arrest and conviction of an individual responsible for many larceny complaints that spanned from 2003 through 2007. The amounts of which exceeded $60,000.00 and cleared numerous case files at our agencies as well as other agencies.
Pam was awarded a green and white ribbon bar to be worn on her uniform for her efforts.
On 11-8-10, Officer Williams was named the Gerrish Township Patrol Officer of the year for 2010. The award is earned by a combination of Evaluation marks as they relate to the Department's 15 named evaluation criteria that include; Community orientation, Decision Making/Judgment, Interpersonal Relationships, Oral Communication, Partnership Development, Patrol Management, Problem Solving, Professional Image, Resource Knowledge and Utilization, Safety practices, Self Improvement, Written Communications, Leadership, Investigative Skill, Professional Ethics/Values and Adherence to Department Missions and Vision.
Officer Williams is an integral part of the Gerrish Township Police Department team. Pam brings a cheerful and energetic personality to work and works well with the Gerrish Township Community.
