2010 Dodge Charger
After careful consideration and evaluation of the patrol options on the Market and availability this year, Chief Hill chose to recommend that we consider purchasing the 250 Horsepower 3.5 High Output V6 cyl. engine Dodge Charger patrol unit. This engine boasts the same fuel economy as the Impala which is 17/24. The vehicle is rear wheel drive with traction control. It is the best purchase for the time as we are buying something that will be around for more years to come as opposed to buying a last model year production patrol vehicle from the other two manufacturers. It comes with a 5 yr, 100,00 mile warranty. The Dodge Charger was first in the market as a police package in 2006. The vehicle is in “mid-production” in the patrol vehicle plans of the Dodge Company. In other words, the same type of vehicle should be available in the coming years as opposed to a new model year in the following purchases over the next several years. Additionally, the resale values for Dodge are better than the Chevy. Chief Hill recommended the 6 cyl as same is more practical for our use in the Township. All vehicles were tested by the MSP and the Dodge rated first in over half of the performance categories this year.
